| Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh and Sat Sri Akal A Sikh place of worship is called a 'Gurdwara', which is open to visitors, irrespective of their religion or gender, at all times. The common translation of the term as temple is not satisfactory, as Sikhi possesses no sacraments and no priestly order. The essential feature of a Gurdwara is the presiding presense in it of the Sikh Sacred Scripture, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee, the living Guru of the Sikhs. Hence the name Gurdwara (guru + dwara) = the Guru's Door. Sikhs believe the first place of pilgrimage is within one self. The main aim for creating this website is for educating site visitors in Sikhee (ਸਿੱਖੀ Punjabi; no "ism" in the original language) and Gurbani. Other information includes Gurdwara timetables and events, religious service and festival brief.

*** Katha Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji ** ~ www.video.gurmatchanan.com ~ By various kathaavachaks ~ | **Article selection** Sangrand and Sikhi By Karminder Singh Dhillon Ph.D (Boston) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An increasing number of gurdwara parbhandaks and sangats celebrate the occasion of sangrand.[1] These celebrations take the form of regular kirten, katha and Barah Maha reading type diwans, implying that sangrand is a Sikhi related occasion. A number of justifications are put forth to prove that sangrand is indeed a Sikh function. This article examines these justifications with particular attention to the Gurbanee portions that purportedly discuss and hence dictate sangrand as a Sikh function. -->Read more ~ | ***Sabad Keertan of the month*** This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Jee in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 294 GuruGrantDarpan : Arth ~ | ***GurSikhee Vichaar of the month*** O NANAK! THERE IS ONLY ONE AMRIT What is that one Knowledge, which is worth having? As indicated by the Gurbani, Brahma-Giaan would be the answer. All other knowledge can only be a burden on the soul. - ਕਥਨੀ ਕਥੀਐ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ॥੧੫॥ kathhanee kathheeai breham giaan ||15|| Speak the speech of God's spiritual wisdom. ||15|| (sggs 344).
- ਨਾਨਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਆਪਿ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ॥੬॥: Nanak Brahm Giaanee aap Permesur ||6||: Says Nanak, the knower of God (Brahm Giaanee) himself is the exalted Lord ||6|| (sggs 273).
- ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਕੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਰਸੀ ॥ breham giaanee kee dhrisatt anmrith barasee ||: Amrit rains down from the glance of the Brahm Giaanee (impartially) (sggs 273).
But this leads to an another question: how does one acquire Brahma-Giaan? Of course, by treading the right path, one may say. However, this yet gives rise to an another question, that is, what is the right path? On account of our personal biases and fancies of our Haumai (false ego-sense), what seems right to one may not seem right to someone else. --> Read more ~ | **Featured Sites** www.dasamgranthexposed.com http://www.sikhgenocide.org/ | Online Radio ** www.amritvelaradio.com ** ~ | |
