Nit-Nem (Set of Hymns for Daily/Routine Recitation)
WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh

'Nit' means always and 'Nem' means 'commitment' or 'outh'. Nitnem are Bani's (meaning a set of hymns/scriptures) from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee that are generally read everyday especially by Sikhs who have been initiated (baptised) into the Khalsa.

Daily reciting of a set of Bani's by Sikhs during Guru Jees time has been noted in Bhai Gurdas Jee's Vaaran Var 6 pauri 3.

The current Nit-Nem approved by the Sikh Panth (The Sikh-World) comprises of five sets of scriptures. The first of these is JapJi (also spelled as Jappu Ji) Sahib. Others are Jaap(u) Sahib, Savayae (both not from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee), Rehras and Kirtan Sohela.

Sukhmani Sahib (page 262 to page 296 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee) is often read by some as part of their daily routine.
