Q: What is the purpose of Human Life?
Our 'soul' or divine light/essence(jyot or Jeevatma) is part of God. Our separated souls ultimate aim is to merge back with God. The purpose of this life is to become one with God, to merge in the One whom we originated from. In GurSikhee, salvation or liberation (mukti) can be achieved whilst alive by realising the divine light/essence/truth within. As indicated in the SGGS, the real purpose of life is to Realize Truth, "here" and "now". It is not a future event. Therefore, the real purpose of life is to experience what is beyond one's mere physical existence while living in the body, not after death.
